Obesity & Health…

Hello dear readers,

I have been absent for far too long, I’m trying to change that.

Here’s an issue that is important to me and I wanted to put a little rant out there for you to read.

Just because someone is overweight doesn’t mean they’re unhealthy and it doesn’t mean they have horrible eating habits. Just because someone is thin doesn’t mean they are healthy or physically fit. Too often we judge people by their outward appearances forgetting the golden rule about judging a book by it’s cover. You don’t know someone’s history, you shouldn’t be judging them. That overweigh guy could have just reached his goal of losing 100 lbs, and that chubby girl enjoying an ice cream could be a gym junky enjoying her first treat in 3 months. Stop looking at those around you and focus on yourself, stop being so ignorant.

I am overweight, but have been told by my doctor that my body fat % is lower than a lot of their thinner patients. I’m healthy, I have a great immune system and can sprint up a flight of steps without losing my breath. The majority of the time, I don’t eat fast food, processed foods, refined sugar, or chemicals disguised as food. I’m not perfect and I do slip up once in a while, but I don’t beat myself up about it and I don’t judge others either. Life is about finding balance and learning to love yourself and others for who they are not what they are.

I came across this news article and wanted to share.

ABC News

I’m not a promoter of “fat acceptance”, I’m a promoter of being healthy and that healthy comes in a variety of sizes. Know who you are, and be proud of it.

Thanks for reading.
